Headliner Removal!
Hi guys, I have been thinking on removing my gray headliner for a black suede one from the S63/S65. I have the Panaromic Sunroof so getting all the parts together as we speak. I have been looking on line for any videos of the removal but no luck. Anyhow I can't see it being very hard but was wondering if any of you guys have removed one before and have any tips. I will be more interested on the removal of the front driver and front passenger seatbelts since I am swapping the side molding as well. So any tips will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

There are YouTube videos of people removing at least part of the headliner to access the sunroof motor. It's not the whole headliner, but at least you'd get an idea of how it works...

What I can say from personal experience is that you should remove the front seats which is very easy and creates lots of space to work. Next become familiar with origami and spacial mathematics as the folds and movements are easy but nerve wracking. Have a helper or two to lessen the chances of scratches or a cracked headliner. For all of the trim, use trim tools to make it easy and successful.
The major cost of this job is in the headliner. The labor to remove and replace from a headliner shop should not be too bad in comparison.

Are you able to help me with .pdfs for the headliner remowal (or if it's possible just to lower it) for my 2009 (pre-facelift) as well? I just want to get access to the FM antenna amplifier which I have been told should be located her just behind the shark fin. A picture of this amplifier including location would also be grate!

Did you successfully complete this job? I keep looking at alcantra headliners on Ebay, and think about taking on the job. How did it go for you?

nath, do you plan on doing the headliner in your CL? I can tell you the hardest part of this job is removing the c Pilars and the rear shelf. That said, this was my favorite mod done to any of my cars, well worth the effort.

I keep thinking about doing it. I've spent piles of money lately on my car (my wife told me to cool it last night), and will have to digest some of my other projects before spending even more. But, I really do like the look/feel of the CL600 headliner. Thanks for your input about the installation. My rear interior is completely taken apart right now, which also got me thinking about the project.
