How do I open trunk with no power or Key? 2009 S550

I just purchased a salvage 2009 S550 that was in a flood. I bought it to fix my s63 that was in a front end accident. I got the 2009 parts car with a key but I don’t think it’s the right one since the key blade does not turn any locks. The car doesn’t get power due to it being in a flood. I am now parting out the car but I am unable to open the trunk. Any idea how to open the trunk with out destroying the trunk lid?

There should be an emergency trunk release in the trunk. If you can gain access through the back seat you should be able to locate it and open it.

I thought about that too. The only thing is there is no access through the back seats. I could try to drill a hole in the wall where the center arm rest is. But I’m also not sure if that emergency button will power up due to it being in a flood.

If you are going to part the car out that would be the best way to go.

One thought is to have a dealer order a valet key for the car. With a visit to the parts department and proper documentation on your purchase and your current key, you MIGHT get them to sell you one, 30-40 bucks.

An auto locksmith should be able to pick it. Normally opening the boot (trunk ) would trigger the alarm and lockdown the car until it was started with the original key but clearly not an issue here.

Also, boot releases only exist in North American models as far as I’m aware. If you fold down the rear centre armrest, you can access the fusebox and then push through to the boot (the panel takes a lot of force and might break) so you should be able to feed a wire loop or something through.

Be careful cutting through as the seats don’t back on to the boot/trunk directly - there is a space a few inches deep that houses several computer modules and the main battery back there!
