Hey guys…a purely cosmetic question here…with only 67, 000 kms, and no winter driving, my father’s old 07 550 has a spotless engine bay and I hope to keep it that way. The car is really in amazing shape and my goal is to keep it as original as possible. I noticed the chrome on the front engine cover star is peeling quite badly…obviously from the heat of the engine…just wondering if anyone has replaced this part? Is this something I should look to the dealer for or is it an aftermarket part? Many thanks in advance for any intel.
MB does not sell Star separately replacement cover is part 2730101867. Some in 211 & 212 forums suggest 3D printing to replace search “273 engine cover star”.
