whooshing sound of air releasing after turning off ignition

but I'm not convinced - when mine does it you get a water turning to steam type noise to boot - and I only get it now and again - I still think its the AC condense draining out on to the right side CAT

Airmatic adds air in the springs to keep the car at the set level so when you stop the car it raises up because the down force disappears.
When driving and making stops at traffic does not initiate the release of air as the car “thinks” it will be moving soon again so the car stays up but when you park the car and turn engine off and exit the car it knows driving is done and let’s air out to bring the car down to the set height.
You can experiment with this too. If you have a fast drive and then stop and exit the car from driving fast you will have bigger air release than if you drive slow long enough after fast drive. This difference is from the amount of down force the springs had to work against.
Air release is perfectly normal. There would be a problem if it would not happen.
there a simple test
start your car drive 10 yards turn it off, and lock it - does it still make a noise ? (my idea can't happen in such a short time frame) - but your's should be repeatable 100% of the time
if it does it would have to be a different - local market addition - USA get extras for pretend environmental control - so it might be a fuel system feature European cars don't get
problem due to air hose connection to the air pump is broken, correct it then you will see a different

Minh, what part of the car is that picture from? Does the car need to be on a lift to see it?

I hope it helps.

The compressor can easily "breathe" now.

I hope that helps.
