OMG...that is just crazy and disrespectful to owners. It bothers me is that they seem to try to alienate their customers, and burn through goodwill like kindling. I emailed in to HQ asking about a part that went from $165 to $4000 overnight. I bought the part when it was $165, but why punish owners of older cars? I get it that parts are low stock and precious, but why ransom them off? The bland corporate email I got back said something like Mercedes engineering and high quality is reflected in our prices. Uh huh.

So good news about the oil filter housing. I received my tiny spanner E-12 in the mail, and it just fits (barely) on the AC bracket. I got it removed, as well as the oil filter housing. I was going to just clean up the old one, but for only $125 I got a new Nissen housing and oil cooler. Now I need to figure out where the three different bolt sizes go to reinstall the housing. I'm in so deep on this project why not replace yet a few more things. For those in the future doing this on an M273, I got the following wrench...
