getting the analog clock sync'd with system time

Got my S550 3 months ago and couldn't get the analog clock to sync. Turns out all you have to do is set the time after the car has been sitting overnight. Just DON'T start the car first thing in the morning. If you have the button start, press it without your foot on the brake, then set the time using the center knob and COMAND screen. Voila!! Now the analog clock is correct!

Enh. I had to change the time zone four times to finally get my analog to sync. Going forward (west) didn't work but east did.

no - you apply the software update so the car knows which year it is in, in relation to the changed info satellites give out after they rolled over to their new 19 year cycle in April 2019

look for the post promising long term fix...... https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8574633

Botus is right, you need to apply Polarbear's patch. If you are too lazy to do that, all you have to do is park the car in a covered garage that will filter out the satellite signal and wait the three minutes or so for the car to fall asleep. Then turn the car on to position one but don't start it and manually change the time using Command.

The car first looks for the satellite to get its time setting. If you frustrate that, you can set it manually. If you don't do Polarbear's update, your date in the car will always be off even if the time is right.

Good luck.

the cars service reminder and the Sat Nav time of arrival are both impacted if you don't apply the later software - note: some units were left of the CD - there's a later update file near the scrambled link (that didn't land on the correct page I gave) that supports two common one they forgot but I was told there are others missing as well....

I was looking at CDs with BenzNinja the other day and we found one strange update CD 2218276259 for a very different head unit (that he felt might be an elusive Japanese model update) and it too runs the same Sat Nav time file - so a brave person could see if they can build a disc for this headunit and copy over the polarbear patch included in what the car believes is update 423
