Oil filter housing gasket and engine oil cooler gasket
Hello all,
So in July I had replaced all the pulleys, belt, and the engine oil cooler gasket prior to me making my trip to Florida with the family. Recently I noticed oil spots on my driveway so I brought my car to my mechanic for him to check it. Apparently the oil filter housing was leaking onto the belt. Needless to say my mechanic said that the belt would need to also be replaced. Literally two days later my luck at 182k miles the belt snapped while driving to work and I was stranded in parking lot. So today my mechanic called me and said that the total cost for the repair was $480. I supplied the belt and gaskets but of course my luck one of the brand new idler pulley and crank housing seal got destroyed from the belt snapping. At this point I am just happy the car is fixed and ready to be back on the road. I been using my 2012 Audi A6 which is tuned and has over 500hp but there is nothing like the s class. So the lesson of the day is definitely check these gaskets and get them replaced sooner than later .

Yes unfortunately they do fail. Glad it is all fixed
