**** new mod in the works!

So recently I been thinking that I would like to have the hud display in my 07 s550. So I will be doing a custom installation. When I am done it will look like it was part of the dashboard and display on the windshield. I will post progress as I go along. As most who have seen when I do things in my car they look oem so I am confident that this new mod will look the same.

Nice. I love a good HUD. What you have in mind? Oem or aftermarket?

Aftermarket.. trying to see if I can’t make it look good and factory.

Is there a hollow pocket inside the dash somewhere to accommodate that? I'd love to have HUD

This mod isn’t going to be simple one.. I am really only looking to have the mph seen on my windshield. Basically you need to cut a hole in the dashboard which is not something most will be comfortable doing then of course the mounting of the hud display. My vision is to have the hud display somewhat recessed into the dashboard so it flush. Then a piece of plexiglass will be installed. As of now I am mapping it all out.The only reason I wouldn’t do this mod is cause I have not having too much time.

Sadly not for a traditional old school HUD setup but there are newer better technologies that don’t take as much space. Ghosting of the image on the windshield will also be an issue based on several factors. Take a look at my 216 build thread to see something similar.

This could be one of the coolest mod you have ever tackled . I find HUD very useful but plexiglass ones gismo makes them cheap but I am aware of the fact that OEM or direct windshield reflection models are more expensive
