2014 E350 Wagon, 2007 S600, 2009 SL550 with ABC removed, 2011 S400 with Hybrid removed
Obstructed fuel fill hose?
2011 S400 - fuel filling hose seems to be not providing a full flow somewhere close to the gas tank. When filling up, the fuel backs up and stops the pump. After waiting for the fuel to go down fueling resumes to give the same backup result in several seconds.
Is it something common, are there known remedies? Thanks!

The charcoal/carbon canister has a vent on it with a felt filter. Your filter is most likely clogged. On my 2007 it is located behind the passenger rear wheel. Pop the vent valve off, remove the filter, clean with soap and water, dry it off, put it back, should be good to go.

On W221 the most common issue for this problem is the actual charcoal canister. Replace the whole assembly and be done. But you can try doing just the shut off valve, first.

There is an updated charcoal canister that I think came on the 09+ and newer.
