W221 Tire pressure monitoring system inoperative
). Within the frame of reference of a tire monitor all the units serve the same purpose - to give a reasonably accurate and repeatable measure of the pressure in the tire.My issue is that when I measure using the TPMS sensors and then with the old-school manual guage, within a minute of each other, I get an 8% variance in result. Your comment about the system adjusting for tire temperature is an interesting one and might be the answer. I have not yet lived with these Autel sensors long enough to know whether the reflect the pressure change caused by the tires warming up. I can say, though, that the ones I just removed did do that and I would see a 3 - 5 PSI shift between cold and warm tires. I've no idea what brand the sensors I originally replaced were (certainly not Mercedes originals in a 16 year old vehicle) so regrettably cannot any actionable info on them. Once I've had a chance to take the Autels for a longer run I will report back.
on many BM bikes you can turn on a secret menu to show the temps... nice little safety extra when pressing on at mach 10
now u typed that - try reading post #25 again..... (I thought I'd said exactly that 2 hours ago?)
BMW bikes used to be a 6 digit BT code for their TPMS sensors and had less stability front to rear in tyre pressure display - when they moved 4 or 5 years later to 7 digit BT code sensors they better match the pressure rise together
