Rear massage parts - is coding required?

I have rear seat controls on my 2012 S550 but wanted to see how difficult it was to upgrade to the rear massage function. It is easy enough to switch out the back seats. I would also need to replace the rear center armrest console with item 2219707530. My question for anyone that knows the answers: is there any coding involved to make the rear seats work with that center console???

I am not sure what the wiring harness connects to. Asking if the appropriate required connections on the car side already exist or need to be added, unsure about that.

My understanding is that it is four-zone and so it is likely back only, which means I would not need to replace the bottom seat section. Can anyone confirm this?

Anyone know the part number for the upper massage seat? I do not believe A2219202816 is correct.

Thanks to anyone that has experience with this.

its not just seats its the module, software, switches, looms, and possibly the PSE pump that will need to be upgraded - did they do any that didn't have the venting ? - if not the seat squabs would need to be changed to match

its seldom makes any sense to add toys to a car - its so complex and so costly its often a lot less agro to just buy one with the right toys - a few bits makes some sense (especially these days where hero's like benzninja can do his magic on the software side and parts exist in vast numbers in breakers yards...) but when you need looms its usually horribly complex - and on this its also the leather option and the colour you'll need to match

and then of course its often unreliable...

most toys offer nothing worth having - I always wanted TV - utter waste of space use every 5th years and massage use once every 3 years both just to remember it exists .....

If you do this project, I had my first experience with BenzNinja yesterday--he is what you need. Wow! He knows more about Mercedes than all the techs at my local dealership put together. I think he will be the key to keeping my car operating way beyond what I previously thought.

I'd say that's a disservice - it would be closer to say he knows more about merc's than every tech in every country in the entire world put together, and mostly more than the idiots that create them....
