Alternator Replacement Help (2011 S550)
Hi there everyone, I'm pretty new to forums, but I just needed some help. My dad's 2011 S550 had an alternator that went out. We already took out some of the air intake hoses and the radiator fan to get to it, but the alternator uses 4 bolts. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. We also removed the cover underneath the car. We managed to get the top ones off but the bottom ones are blocked by what looks like either the chassis or the wheel well wall. We barely had enough room to get a flat wrench to get a single bolt on the bottom loose, but we can't pull it out. There isn't enough room for it to come out. I guess it's a removable panel? I'm not a mechanic but I can work with cars if I need to. I just have absolutely no idea how to get this part out. If anyone has any diagrams or even instructions on how to get this part out I would be grateful.
