Can Bus Errors
i replaced the batteries as some errors I noticed were due to the battery. Also a simple battery test confirmed a replacement. But this error is confusing. It’s a left and right speed sensor error and then a ‘Chassis CAN bus’ error. Attached a photo for more details. Wondering if it’s really the speed sensors or the ABC module.
anyone see this error or have any ideas what it may be?
go in live data of the wheel speed sensors and go for a very short drive if they are playing up its normal its a dead wheel speed sensor (usually at the back) - are the fronts even connected ?
worse fun is the ABS modules on ALL cars die frequently (but merc ones are better than most) - whilst that seems strange its because mostly come from one of two suppliers - but they can order how quickly you like them to die - Ford buy the best and BMW the very worst, failing at 5 times the rate of Ford ones for the 'very same' component - its all about how tight the ESP pump brush guides are specified
a dead ABS module usually gives no comms to the unit
a failing pump might wake with a smack from a hammer and often mentions pressure faults (as its not running correctly)
a dead ABS wheel sensor gives no reading on the offending wheel

which would make an ABC error a distinct possibility - and would need coding out or a dongle to lie back to the car the ABC was doing what it should (some spring and damper kits make an removal dongle for the airtragic setup...)
go to chassis decode tool to see what it was built with
487 ABC SUSPENSION (ACTIVE BODY CONTROL)
or
489 AIRMATIC DUAL CONTROL / AIR SUSPENSION SEMI
