Airmatic malfunction

2004 W220 S500 swb
I have been reading this thread and it was a very interesting one. I will soon have to replace my airmatic pump and am wondering if anyone ever had a bad one dissected.
Just to see what it actually is that goes bad on them.
I also see different brands on both eBay and other places in very different price ranges.
Which one would be a good alternative? APM is from Malaysia and not that expensive, but is it any good?
And what is the correct part nr? Mine is a 2012 S 350 CDI swb and rear wheel drive. I find this part nr A2213201704 online, but is it the right one?

ummm, looks like u r correct - probably how it gets such high pressure - never really bothered to think about it
