2012 S550 4matic tire size help

Can I run the 2016 AMG gt wheels on my 2012 S550 4matic?
it would be 265/35 ZR19 up front (19x9) and 295/30 ZR20 (20x11) on back?
I purchased the set ..saying the wheels were19inch rims.
I just need opinions on looks with that setup and drivability/Safety... Will they work?

I think the looks would be fine but the tires have 2.5% diameter difference that may be too much for the 4-Matic to handle. I don’t know if S-Class center differential is built the same as in E-Class, which could not last long with this much speed difference.

But perhaps S-Class AWD system is built better…?

I would say no. Ideally you want under 1% difference, 2.5% is too much imo.

If you put 275 35 19 up front, it goes to 1.5% difference, which is a lot better.

Then if you put 285 30 20 in the rear, that goes to 0.5% difference, which is good.

I have the same car and was told by many Technicians, Tire shops, etc. that 4-matics should have all same tire and wheel sizes, no staggered sizes. Not sure if the above % numbers might apply to RWD only.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I also thought that going to 275 would help the scenario.
where can I go to get info on the S550 transmission?
There's got to be a little variance on what I can run?

Yep, you're welcome. I do not know where to find that information, but ideally you want to research the 4Matic system tolerances. I did before for my ML, also a 4Matic.

Of course, the safest would be to use stock tire sizes. But it is not the width of the tire, but the height aka the diameter that matters. If you look at AMG 4Matic cars that have staggered tire setups you'll see that they are within some set percentage of each other. I have seen that at most it is ~1%. I use this website when comparing tires/wheels: https://www.willtheyfit.com
