How to restore cracked leather - W221 S550 / Any Car
I noticed some cracking in my leather seats due to use and possibly harsh cleaning. This is better tackled sooner rather than later due to the tendencies of cracks to get worse exponentially.
I bought paint to repaint/touchup the seat from https://www.seatdoctors.com. Their product is mostly filler, so after a few coats it fills in the cracks as well. Don't apply too thick and use a toothpick if the leather perforations get covered. For completely ruined seats / color changes, it is advised to remove the seat and paint using a paint gun.
It not only looks better, but it stopped the damage from getting worse. I told my brother about it and he fixed his black BMW leather too. Here's a before/after:

I redid my center console in my s55. Unfortunately I don’t have any before pics but I used alcohol and removed as much dye and dirt as possible, then I used the dye as mentioned above, and then I used a matte finish. I think a satin finish would’ve been better. I used a topcoat because of it being a higher wear area..the feel is that of soft leather. Pretty neat imo.
Use a sponge and make sure not to get any lint or hair in the final result. It’s not perfect but for my first try, I was very happy.
