Automatic power trunk lid

Hello,

So while I wait for my ecu I decided to buy all the parts to retrofit automatic power trunk lid. Below is the parts I needed to do this. My only question is that I need to know is what else I need to do to make it work. I know coding has to be done. If anyone did this retrofit please let me know the steps you took to make this work.

a2208217251 lid button

a2218001548 hydraulic pump motor

a2215406110 wiring harness

I have not done this job, mine came with the trunk feature. Do you have the button on the armrest near the window controls that activates the trunk opener from inside the car? The parts you list appear to be just the trunk lid buttons, not sure though.

yes, I have the button on the door. My interior was upgraded a year or so ago by me and I have the designo package with the rear side door sunshades. All the buttons as well door modules that came with the s63.

ummm driven two with power trunk and it was super offensive just on the test drive

mine doesn't have it and I open and close it like a grown up 10 times faster

plus with the horrific design of 1/4 of a pint of rain water goes in the boot each side every time you open if there been rain or it is raining - I much prefer the option to wipe most off before it goes in and hold it mostly closed as I catch it in my hand on the amp side

Living in Arizona, I don't face rain issues in the boot.

However, I use the door button and trunk buttons for the lid feature all the time.

At the risk of sounding eleitist, (I am not, I drive old cars and maintain them myself), I use Open while in the car, so that Golf attendant can fetch my clubs before the round. Also, I pre-order our groceries, simply pull into the pickup spot, hit the button and in go the groceries, all while I enjoy the A/C out of the heat. I use the trunk lid Lock button if I walk away after retrieving something. So its what you get used to, I guess.

OP, enjoy the new features and keep us posted!

rain or just as problematic, condense or standing rain, is I guess more than 50% of the open close operations I do with the boot

both my 221 and my fathers 211 come as std with an over the top spring release - using the key or with the button I never use inside, the boot pings up to fully open with gusto - as in 1/4 of a second, not a sticky clunky 8 seconds or so for the auto open and again close feature

as this encourages the snap the designed to fracture loom for the camera, license plate illumination, and central locking... I do not have the springs in the std fly open and snap the wire tension Merc configure the car with - on my 221 I can get perfect pop and sit closed - yet open and stay open feature I want

whereas his 211 is stupid, the hinge loves to fall on you if you set the spring tension so it stays closed but not latched like I have on mine
