Finally off to the bodyshop to be repainted
Hello,
So after a month of mechanical issues and help from you guys my car was mechanically sound to send it to the bodyshop for it to get a fresh new paint job. I am staying with the same color it is now which is black. Having a few door dings fixed and then having the engine cover painted as well. While the car is in the body shop I decided to have the wheels which are silver powder-coated in a different color. Once the car is back from the bodyshop I will have the wheels put on. Unfortunately my driver’s seat leather has a cut in it so I will be removing it so I can get repaired by the upholstery shop. Once all done I will post a picture of the car. I have to say I am pretty excited to see the finish product. The paint looked good for a car with 195k miles but it’s going to look pretty insane with a fresh paint job. The interior has been upgraded so much that you wouldn’t really know it is a 2007. This body style is timeless and that’s why I decided to get it repainted. That and the fact that I am paying only for supplies to have it painted at my friend’s shop.

I think a lot of us are interested in how this goes, and how much it costs to get a fresh paint job. I've done so much to my otherwise worthless car...a fresh coat of paint while not necessary, would sure be fun/nice. I'd like to do a color change from black to capri blue. Keep us posted, and take photos of the process if you can.

I will post pictures for sure. Changing the require a lot more work. As far as value of the car I am not really stressing that . The s class has served its purpose as nice weekend family car. I have 5 other cars they are newer and faster but still love my s class . I will keep in for another 5 years.

Awesome! Can't wait to see it! I love that you love this car so much. I love mine just as well. With only 50k mi on mine, the paint and body are flawless and a long way away from needing a respray. I will be polishing and ceramic coating it though. Mine, as you know, is white, so we will have to do some glamour photos once they are in tip top shape!
