Lightbulb About the engine sound

I wanted to ask the audience here, if this clicking constant background sound coming from the engine is normal, if yes, then from where ? because I don't recollect having heard such sound from other cars. Maybe it's a MB special ?

I would also like to add,
that at highway speeds (>60 mph) I can hear this type of (almost like motorcycle kind of thumping) gentle sound from the engine, I doesn't effect drive quality in anyway, but I am wondering if it is something loose or something on the way to failing to just normal

Sounds a lot like a canister purge solenoid.

Typically, Mercedes engines are kind of clicky, that’s true for German engines in general actually. It’s a certain kind of tick that sounds not too loud, but also doesn’t sound broken.

But if you can hear it over a normal talking voice while inside the car, it’s definitely too loud. Now what’s causing it, I don’t know something I would assume on the top end of the engine, but I haven’t had this problem myself. (Yet)

I’m sure you already know this, but you could try changing the oil, or even adding some sort of additive for the lifters, try simple things first before ordering expensive parts. Good luck!
