I don't really do aftermarket wheels and I like the way my car rides on 18s. So, while many of the 19 and 20" wheel options on the W221 appeal to me, I'm not really interested in the shorter sidewall that results.
So all that said, is there an 18" wheel (something in the classic 5 spoke and derivatives class) that fits the W221? Like maybe an older AMG wheel? My base wheels are depressing to look at, but I want to keep the 18" size.
Research reveals that I have my pick of basically the entire Mercedes catalog, aside from offset concerns. W220 AMG is the obvious choice basically matching my offset but sounds like I want a ~35mm offset (more flush look) which doesn't seem to be a thing. CLS AMG looks like the opposite problem - too little offset. I'll keep looking.
That's a good point. Trying to convince Copilot to render me some W221s on the various W220 AMG 18s. I'm failing currently. Choices really seem to be twin 5 spoke like I had on my E55 or mono block. The W221 S600 did use a mono block so that is interesting.
Go to the following link...they have an amazing selection of in stock OEM wheels that have not otherwise been around for years. I've bought two sets from them.
ET43 - changing this on the front to wrong, will ruin the steering feel, and the ride and handling will take a turn for the worse
Reckon a change to ET41 is ok without affecting handling? Only reason is that MB has 17" wheels - a22240100027x45 that's for the 222, which I prefer given how smooth the roads
