Hi, I have w221 2006 CDI and I got via Xentry an information related to the CGW that was damaged.
No problems in reading or working, so i decide to check it a bit better and in the end I cleaned it up, loosing connection with all the rest of the unit.
Now I m lost, the car can turn on without problems but nothing works.
I know I made a mistake, but the question is, can we fix it?
Since was damaged I bought another one. Can we use it?

The new CGW needs to be coded for your car. BenzNinja is the man for the job.
if you play hard enough the CGW will cry " I need a tea break" - basically too much canbus noise throws it in a tailspin till its lost - disconnect the rear battery Earth (via the red painted 13mm headed bolt halfway along the right of the spare wheel well - it has a flat black ribbon cable) leave for the 20 min tea break - then reconnect and likely it will wake up normal
yes you can fit another compatible CGW - but it needs a clever person to attack its ant brain with vediamo and install the current car's VIN and likely flash it with the current software - the real game comes trying to set it up for the current toy spec of the new vehicle - and there's a new bit of fun due to age - stopping you doing it....

Hi, thanks for the tips!!!! I have been in my garage, disconnect the cable, waiting... but nothing, it is exactly the same... there is no communication.
are the batteries fully charged ? you can't expect these to last 10 mins with the key on without battery support - if you played for 45 mins fighting a CGW without a charger or better still a 50 amp power supply holding it at 14v then you'll have no chance - give up - and via the correct points under the bonnet charge overnight and try in the morning
if as you suggest the CGW is showing blank they you'll need help
