How does Mercedes' Pre-Safe system work to reduce injuries during an accident?

Tightening the seatbelts, play pink noise to minimize ear impact, close windows and rapid flash brake lights (if equipped) to alert drivers in the rear of sudden emergency stop.

It also applies 40% brakes if you don't brake yourself.

It gives a warning I think like 1.5s before impact and if you apply brakes then it will give maximum brakes regardless of your pedal force for protecting from an impact.

it doesn't apply the brakes on the early 221 at all ...the distronic plus can apply braking up to 40%

what the pre safe does - if you instigate the braking quickly it smashes the pedal to the floor giving max possible braking till you release the pedal

it also plumps up the seat cushions - got it cut in on mine for first time in about 5 years 2 days ago - some cretin stopped int he middle of the road for fun in front of me
