Front Door speaker replacement
i have a front door speaker that sounds blown. I know this is an optical system and i tried searching for this already, but does anyone know if i can swap out the blown speaker like you would with any other speaker, or do they need to be specific speakers to work with this system?
Here is an example of what Crutchfield says will fit are a replacement
JL Audio C1-650x C1 Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield
or these
Alpine S2-S65 Next-Generation S-Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield
I know based on what i researched is that you have to have one with the right Ohm for impedence to not have issues with volume, distortion, and other issues with not having the right impedence.
The speakers i posted above are 4 Ohm and i guess from what the factory has in the system they are factory speakers at 2 or 3 ohm.
so what about these 2 ohm?

Do, you think even with the added stuff Crutchfield provides for installation might still make it complicated? I mean of course it is easier to just replace it exactly, but what about with the extra stuff?

I did find some replacements on ebay that would be OEM drop in replacements. But as i stated previously I have a fear that it will obviously be from around the same year and age and may not last. Do you have any experience with buying the used speakers or know of anyone who has?

Follow up question for adding an amplifier and maybe adding in some small Kicker Comp 10' or maybe even 12". Can I use this device and tap into the rear speakers in trunk? Then since there is battery in trunk that has positive and a ground, can i just add a little amp right there and put it down in the wheel well?
