try getting your service history correct doing things manually - a year back I found mine in the original copied it all over to the new one (when I was trying to set it up on later software) and having written just the SW for the car features last weekend it managed to lose the service data - now I can't find it in the old one and couldn't write anything about right manually - spent 7 hours fighting it the other day - gave up and next day managed to do the swap over procedure from a working device - where upon it crashed and failed - but got over its self and wrote all 4 elements of the old device to the replacement

Assyst is a separate memory to the CGW, that's to say they have their own entries when you scan the car.
The history for mine had been lost when I purchased it, but the car had obviously been looked after having gone through BCA at Grade 2 with a service break down in the listing. Every service I have done has been added to the car and I have the receipts for every part fitted. MB couldn't/wouldn't give me a printout when I asked just after I purchased it.

Unless your car is a showroom queen physical evidence of maintenance is better than anything the computer might reflect.

A friendly service advisor will gladly supply you with an VMI.

it is part of the stuff inside the CGW, 4 elements hide in there

but it does show in xentry as three separate elements, and two lots of software inside the CGW...

if it was being traded within a dealer network paperwork goes straight in the bin - its ONLY been about electronic records for last 20 years on German branded cars - after all anyone can fake paperwork - very few can get at and make up service history inside its nasty little ant brain software

VMI will give very general descriptions of work performed and doesn't include notes about what software the car is equipped with but will list all options the car has and one would get to figure out software from there.

Not for the want of asking. But no. Tried three and the answer was consistently "not serviced here, can't help".

Anyways, point being unless it's the lowest mileage most immaculate example, the computer service record is of limited value. OP should be more concerned at getting the car running cost effectively. A used CGW is cheap enough for testing purposes.

there is a way to pull all the software updates a car had with the specific detail of when and which garage applied it
this is where Merc redid coding for the Rear SAM correcting SCN 12 years after they release the software !!! to make the error for the rear sun blind disappear
