Thanks. I am really enjoying this color combination. It does have driver assistance package and rear seat upgrade. Also after 9 months it only has 3100 miles on the car. The city is very convenient and you really don't use the car that much.

The bottom line is that you can get on the list once the car actually exists. At this point, it has not even been announced. We don't know what it looks like, what options it will have, and when exactly it will come out. Dealers do want your money as soon as possible, so they will gladly accept a "deposit" on something that is still vaporware.
just some idea about getting new design cars. they won't be available for everybody. +now dealers don't even like selling it out of states because of some reasons. so it's harder to get one.
I have deposit for 2014 S550 already though. Hope it will worth it.

in some case, the supply won't be enough and you won't find any vehicle on the market if you didn't put any deposit early. This is more true for redesign, new model vehicle. I was hunting for 750Li back in 2009. and all over the country didn't have anything that I wanted. same thing happended few months ago with my 2013 Range Rover Supercharged. couldn't find anything at local dealer. Have to fly across the country to get 1 after few months keep calling all the dealers. I even had to put down deposit in few dealers to have my name on waiting list. lucky me, for both vehicle, some one dropped their order and I jumped in.

very fugly IMO. i don't get why everything from the lcd to the buttons, steering, vents, armrest and seats have to be super curved like its a concept car.The introduction of Leds already took away from the grown and sexy look of the mature S-class look. But Leds (particularly on the headlights) are a trend that are ok to live with when not excessively done as seen on some other cars. The S-Class is a classy grown man car. No need to follow current trend of super-curves like its a cartoon spectacle. I think the W221 interior and exterior beats this hands down. . . Just my opinion however.

I was shopping for a new car back in February of 2006 when I had the opportunity to pick up a brand new Launch Edition S550 off the showroom floor. Not doing that was the best decision ever, considering the limited number of installed options and the extensive number of problems that the first batch of the new model inevitably exhibits.
Without a doubt, the dealer would be very happy to take any kind of money off your hands for anything that you can fantasize about. Setting the lack of patience aside, you are always better off waiting for the early kinks to get worked out and special ordering a car with the right option set for you.

Really unappealing to me, those interior shots. Armrest pulls and general design of door interior reminds me of a couple generations ago SL. Far too "trendy", not classic enough for my taste. While the technology improvements will be nice, sounds as if most will be available on E class. May have to sit out this generation, if it doesn't look better in person (interior). Disappointed so far in what I see.

well, I assume, for the S-class price range, only $2k for deposit won't be a big deal for the owner, and you can also drop the vehicle if you don't want to. My dealer always refund deposit. just my 2cents.

Looking at the partial camo pics and this rendering from CAR, it looks like more of a refresh than a new model...similar to what they did to the SL.

What are you talking about? The SL is new from the ground up, new chassis and everything. S-Class will be also, or at least very close. No Lexus LS style refreshes here.

This car is going to have a model life of around 10 years, so Mercedes is going all out and every picture I see of it makes me more and more excited. As soon as it debut's I'm going to put my deposit down. This new S-Class will be truely spectacular.

Every modern Mercedes model has a life of about 10 years, so the S-Class is nothing special. So far, I have not seen anything terribly impressive in the leaked pictures. Looks only marginally different from W221, and the changes are rather questionable. I will hold my judgement until the car is actually released, though.

The options look so intense!!! I really need to start bolstering my S Class fund...this looks amazing. I'm glad they packaged the options more logically instead of individually.
