I think its the 398 package that will make the rear seat a 2 place seat.
398 package - Executive Rear Seat Package has 2 items:
- 224 - Two place seating in the rear
- 449 - Folding Tables in the Rear
I would think MB will not have 2 codes (224 and 453) for the same thing.
453 may be something else but good luck trying to find out what that is.
We probably know more about this than MB sales force

it does seem like there are repeats in the packages.....
and I agree that we know more than the sales force: a salesman in the Greensboro store didn't even know what a W222 was!

What estimated ship dates are you guys getting?
I have a August 8th date for a pre=configured car. Nothing available for build out until November.
I'm also planning on having the car only till the s63 comes in.

2012 Mercedes GL350 BLUETEC, 2012 CLS63 AMG, 2008 E63 Wagon
I am from CA, but I go to Frankfurt once a year for business affairs. The W222 will be my personal vehicle there for the 6 month stints that I am there. While I am back in the states, it will be sitting in my aunt's garage in Landstuhl. I currently have an E63 wagon for this purpose, but I would like something more modern and comfortable. The W222 definitely fits the bill.

Well while that sounds nice, it's physically just not feasible without a longer wheelbase (like a Pullman). There isn't enough length for the leg rest/feet.
The front passenger seat is moving forward plus the backrest is forward reclining to make space if nobody is in the seat, but that's hardly possible for the driver's side

How does he know about the delay in designo? Its not listed in Netstar or the order guide as delayed.

This is the latest Dealer Guide with updated options and prices. The one from 5/16 was incomplete and inaccurate. The file was too big to be compressed and too big to be uploaded directly as a PDF. You may download it at the link I provided.

Most likely both sides recline- only the passenger side has the increased angle at 43 degrees while the driver side will probably be slightly less.
The W140, W220, and W221 with rear seat package always had both sides with the recline feature.
