Nov delivery changed to Jan/Feb....
I ordered an S550 and was told my slot was Nov/Dec.....now the dealer calls and says because of my nut brown nappa leather option ($2,290) which he says is on backorder, my order got kicked out by MBUSA and i lost my spot. Sound correct, or did they find someone who was willing to pay premium over sticker and screwed me by selling my slot?

I have basically been told the same thing on my order for the S550 4mattic. Which is why I am considering the S63 which will be here in 20 days or less... But it is a heck of a price to pay to get the car early...

This is the same situation I was in with my C when I bought it because I ordered ILS. Because of the shortage of parts from the Tsunami those of us who wanted ILS got bumped down the list.
It happens, it really sucks but you'll eventually get your car exactly as you wanted if you can handle the wait.
My C took 6 months, and I waited 1 day short of a calendar year for my smart, so I'm old hat at it at this point.

I think the demand for this car is pushing Mercedes to this point. They came out swinging with these big guns,the S550 and the CLA and just did not anticipate this much madness, even the boys at Bwm are talking about these cars.

I would agree with the comments about the hype and interest in this new model.
I visited a smallish dealership a couple weeks ago and there were customers waiting to checkout the demo and take it for a test drive. Salesman were holding onto the keys of the car like it was gold. Never seen anything like it.
I can only hope as a waiting customer that the car lives up to the hype. All media reports seem to justify the hype but only owners can decide for themselves.

Yeah I think demand for the S and the CLA is off the charts. Mercedes clearly wasn't prepared for the demand and on top of that you rich guys are ordering all the high-end options lol so they're really getting crushed back in Germany at the factory. The sales numbers will be the proof for the last quarter of the year. Seems the CLA is sold out, dealers here have none now. The A/B/CLA line of compacts have been a huge hit for MB worldwide.

Well I am sure I will LOVE the S63... the only trouble: Sticker of the S550 I ordered is $114,xxx.xx. The S63 sticker is $150,xxx.xx. Quite a difference.... But I am still undecided... I think seeing the S63 in person and driving it will push me over the edge, one way or the other.
I wish I could hear the 3D sound so I know what I would be missing without it..

The 458 is sweetest car on the road, hands down. I just like the "hard" angular design of Lambs. Leave my soft curves to my plush S.

damn, all this is so silly, you'd think MB would have parts on stand by to build the cars and not keep making us wait and wait.....seems kind of funny their not ready to build and sell these cars.....even though we want to buy them.......
maybe I should just wait until the new year.....even though I'd really love to have one this winter; they make it tough to do business with them sometimes....
when you go to Porsche, they have paint samples, leather samples.....all kinds of samples for the senses......same at Jaguar.......
but MB has never had, that I have seen, much of anything to show the customer
in regards to paints, trims and whatever else.....
maybe I should just wait until the new year.....even though I'd really love to have one this winter; they make it tough to do business with them sometimes....
