What discount did you get on your W222???

I was able to get 4% off of an ordered S550.

Same discount was offered to me on an S63.

What are others getting as far as a discount goes?

9 % off MSRP plus no destination charge of $925 but that is via European Delivery.

Trip.....is it because you have a strong established relationship with your dealer that you got that? I don't think many people are gonna get anything off in the first wave season.

My order gets here next year, and I'm gonna try whether my chances are good or not! Lol

I would say I have a good relationship with the dealer. And I had to squeeze hard to get 4%....

I wonder if my dealer will budge at all. I mean why should they? They know they can sell your car at MSRP to someone else really quickly. Why budge the profit for you? That's why I think only a strong established customer can pull this off right now.

But hey.....I'm still gonna try.

Agreed, if you got anything off MSRP, you did real well......I don't see many dealers doing that for a few months.

zero discount. Tried and tried and tried again.
I did use a $500 coupon Mb sent me, dealer will be refunded that money.

They make 13-14% off new cars if you pay sticker. More if you add crazy options.

I am getting a $500 coupon at the dealer event on 10/19 (has nothing to do with my 4% off at the dealer). I suggest everyone call their sales person and find out if a rep will be there from MB giving out $500 coupons for a new purchase if you are planning on buying a car in the near future.

Now this sounds like what I thought would happen to the majority.

Is this an event at every dealership? All on the same day?

I believe it is... Nation wide special sales event, but my sales associate told me someone will be at the dealer offering an additional $500 coupon... I was told the same thing a few months ago, and I was given the $500 coupon which I used when I purchased the 14 E wagon for my mother in August...

I suggest you call your sales person...

My dealer is 2 states away. I'll spend what I'll get from the coupon on gas to get there. LOL

If the money is enough of an object and you can muster waiting for the early-adopters to get their "1st on the block" hands on it (i.e if you yourself are not one of them), you'll be able to get 10++% off of it soon enough (and there are surely some who will be getting that already, though slight, like TomS). I personally would never pay close to sticker for an M-B considering how massive discounts on especially more expensive cars get in relatively short timing. It may not sting now, but in due time the big depreciation that hits these 6 figure cars mixed with the fact that soon enough you'll see an even added 10-20% immediate "depreciation" for cars purchased brand new at bigger discounts may sting a bit. It really depends on how long the "newness" hype lasts, as with the E, SL and CLS they lasted relatively shortly and those cars went into deep-discount mode almost immediately.

Though, I have a feeling the W222 won't see a discount rate as immediately as those cars got.

Don't forget that many dealers offer $500 off too if you are a member in good standing for at least a year of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.

The dealer would not budge. But, since I bought the extended warranty, maintenance agreement and tire/wheel protection they reduced the cost from ~$10K to ~$6K --- so I saved $4K. I wanted those options anyway.

Hey guys....long term lurker here,
.... couldn't afford an S-Class if my life depended on it.

My father signed up for Euro-delivery in late October for a STANDARDLY equipped S550, (MSRP $93,825....ED MSRP $86,397).
He "claimed " () to his salesperson that ANOTHER dealership would be giving him $2500 off. So they responded by giving him an additional discount of $3000...making the price $83,397. I'm assuming this is pretty good...

Reason I ask is,...I know that with BMW there is a lot of negotiating below Euro-Delivery MSRP, but I'm unfamiliar with how much lee-way there is with any Mercedes, let alone an S-Class. Remember, this deal was cut in October....at which time they also promised him a certain $$$ on trade-in of his '07 S550(same standard equipment; just wood on the steering wheel option) when the time came. He is picking up the car March 1st. Anyone's thoughts?

My dealer in Escondido gave me 9% off MSRP ( regular 7% plus 2 more from dealer).

I'm doing EDP too. I'm curious how long it took from the drop off in Europe to when the car arrived? Also, is he East coast or West coast?

Thanks

Tom

We're in New Jersey, so for the East Coast its usually 4-5 weeks after drop-off, if everything goes well and there is not much weather trouble for the boat. Add up to 2 extra weeks for the West Coast.

His pick-up date is March 1st.

Oh I thought he already picked it up. My pickup is March 18.

Thanks

My grandma is disabled and we didn't know about the disability thing. The car was being bought on her name anyway due to it being "her" car. We only really use it when she is with us and we managed to about £80,000 on a S350 with everything that we wanted. Couldn't say no to these prices which is why we retrofitted Burmester and installed 20" Vossens since I have to say, the original sound system was so bad and the 19's weren't my styles. On our previous S class we had 20s too. Thanks to this I think we can get the new C Class or maybe in the future a S Class convertible
