I am new to this forum and needed some suggestions for my winter tires.

I am going to order the S550 with 20" wheels that are on performance rubber. I am planning to purchase a set of 19" wheels for winter use and need winter tires on them. I was wondering what kind of winter tires are good for this car given the larger wheel dimensions.

I am getting a 2015 S550 4-matic.

This is my first Mercedes and first brand new car, but it's not my first brutal Canadian Winter

I do go through a lot of tires, but I am not that knowledgable actually

In no way do I want to compromise my warranty.

I have not received my car yet, but it's coming in the next 10 days they say.
It is equipped with 19" rims - specifically the 793-AMG 19" 5-Twin-Spoke Wheel

I ordered Hakka 8 studded tires:

Tire Size: 245/45R19 102
Speed Rating: T
Load Range: SL
Tread Warranty: N/A
$1600 CAD approx taxes in.

Apparently my 2015 S550 has:

Continental run flat all season tires of some sort:
Front: 245/45 (8.5J x 19)
Rear: 275/40 (9.5J x 19)

$130 to swap the rubber off of the rims back and forth - I can do that a few times until a deal on 4 winter rims comes up.

 

I've had great success with Dunlop Sport D3 winter tires. I've had them on my E550 RWD and 750il X drive. Great tire, awesome traction and super quiet....
