One of my favorite features on our '13 SL is the B&O system with front bass. I'm considering swapping the SL for a W221 S63 with the 3D Surround system, but would be sorely disappointed if the audio system is not as good.

Has anyone here heard both systems?

W221? If you mean W222, the base Burmester already beats the B&O. As stated in other posts, the 3D system blows the base Burmester out of the water. FWIW, I listened to the B&O in the SL before deciding not to get it as I felt that while the difference was great sitting in a standing car with the top up, it was minimal at best driving with the top down.

Thanks for the response, Wolfman. Sorry for the typo, I did mean the W222 of course. Just to double check my understanding, you are saying the base Burmester beats the SL B&O with front bass in your experience? Or are you talking about the S class B&O system? I was also not impressed with the B&O in the S class; the '13 SL B&O implementation is head and shoulders above the one in the previous S class to my ears, and it is that standard that I don't want to step down from.

The Burmester 3D bass will blow you away- I HAVE heard the SL with B&O- Nice system, but not even close!

had B&O in 2013 SL and top burmeister in new S and their is no comparison: burmeister better bass control, pristine clarity, better separation, etc..
