Production question

My dealer advised me that my car is scheduled for production July 1st. So how long after will the vehicle be delivered to my dealer?

I takes between a little less than a week to two weeks to get on a boat. That is luck. If you are on the east coast it takes about two weeks to get your car to the VPC. I think Baltimore is even a little sooner. If you are on the west coast it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get your car to the VPC.

Then, at the VPC, if your car does not have any issues, it can take from a few days to a week or so depending on how far your dealer is from the VPC and whether you are in the beginning of the various drop-offs or at the end.

Quick question, from the time an allotted build date starts, lets say June 1 for simplicity sake, about how many days does it take to complete the car, then ship it and arrive at a dealership in the east coast?

My 2015 S550 just reached B8 after a week and is assigned to a ship. My dealer says he cannot see the ship name yet but I have a VIN number and when I try tracking on the WWL site it does not show up. My VPC is in Brunswick, GA. I am not sure if this normal or not?

I ordered mine 7 Feb. According to official MB vehicle status report supplied by the dealer on 2 April, construction was in March and vehicle was on the vessel to SA for delivery between 28 Apr and 5 May. Delivery didn't took place and after lots of questions I got a new official status from the dealer today with delivery date set for Jun 4! 5 weeks delay and being weekend I didn't manage to get any proper answer from the dealer as to what is going on now. What happened to my vehicle that was shown to be on the vessel? I really don't know what to think about this. I don't have a VIN number or anything else. Just the official MB quote/configuration number that shows still the same with the manufacturing date still shown as March. I've requested the shipping line and Bill of Lading details but the dealer ( one of the largest in SA) is not very competent in answering even much more trivial questions so I have little hope to get this info.

All I can think is that my vehicle has been delayed by another vehicle propably for the same dealer. 2 weeks for production + 3 weeks voyage to SA and that may explain the 5 weeks delay. I feel so disappointed.

Doesn't sound good to me. Can't imagine how you feel going from your car is on a ship to who knows if my car is even built.

I wouldn't be a happy camper.

Yes I feel like crying. Especially after they told me on Apr 30th that everything was still on track and that the vehicle is expected at customs between 1-3 May. Shortly thereafter everything became very confusing and cloudy. Rolling date on their system still shows 1 May but delivery date now pushed forward with 5 weeks. Still hoping for a human error somewhere and that Monday may bring better news.

My car build was scheduled to start the 28th of April. I got word from my dealer that the car was at the dock on May 2nd. It is currently on the boat and scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on the 14th of May. My dealer says 3-5 days after it arrives in Baltimore it should be at the dealership in Ohio. So, from start of build to delivery, mine should take 3 weeks.....hopefully. I have had experiences with this before however, I ordered a Ferrari back in '08 with the commitment date of April 15th from the dealership and I did not receive the car until July 5th. They ended up putting it on a plane and delivering it to the US to expedite the delivery.

My car was on the ship to Brunswick for 13 days as the ship stopped in Halifax enroute to Brunswick. It was exactly one week from the time the ship docked to it was at the dealer in Tampa. That seems to be typical from other reports on MBWorld but I understand other factors can affect the schedule.
