Windshield Protection

Two questions.

Does anyone have experience with windshield protective film?

Are tiny (2-3mm) windshield chips best left alone?

Thanks!

I've got positive experience with Clearplex (windshield film) based on what I've seen on my friend's cars and talking with a premiere installer of the film here. Although they said for a daily driver with lots of windshield wiper actuations it'll likely require replacing every few years, it's better than having pits all over your factory glass. If you have to replace your factory glass, whatever they replace it with is never as good as when the factory does it. For a couple hundred bucks to put some Clearplex on seems worth it to me to keep that factory glass pristine.

I've never done it yet simply because the product wasn't around when my cars were new. I plan to do it on my next one.

This sounds like a great idea. Is it as hard as something like Gorilla Glass? Who is Clearpex made by? I could not find much info on Google about this product. Do they have a Web site?

Sorry I was spelling it wrong. It's actually Clearplex not Clearpex.

I don't think it's as hard as Gorilla Glass simply because it's a film you place over your windshield.

Here's their website:
