Trunk size in S-Class

Has anybody out there tried to get two sets of golf clubs in the S550 trunk sideways? I have an Audi A8 and the trunk sucks! I can only get one set of clubs in it sideways. The A8 is 13.2 cu. ft in capacity and the S550 is said to be 16.3 cu. ft. The issue is the width. The Audi is effectively only 48" wide at it's widest. I think the S550 is wider.

PLENTY of room in the S550. Heck it even has a speaker for the trunk to keep your clubs happy in transport. The truck is HUGE.

My trunk is 38-in wide (narrowest). I do not have the high-end sound system which fits in the small area that is 48-in wide. Height is 20-in and depth is 33-in (I have the electric seats in the rear which uses 4-inches of depth). Therefore, by math:
38 x 20 x 37 = 28120 cu in or 28120 / 1728 = 16.3 cu ft

There is plenty of room to put the clubs in diagonally. Diagonal length is 50-in.
