I don't know if I can help you on this or not. Reading the command manual, you have 2 rear remote controls. Set one of the remote controls for the right monitor, press the car button, scroll down, use the sideway arrow for display and scroll to tilt display. According to the downloaded PDF command manual on page 260-262, each remote must be set to control either the left or right screen, this may be the answer to your question. Hope this information helps. PS turn the thumb wheel until "Rear R" appears in screen on the remote.

Next question I can't figure out is if there is a quick way to get to speed dial or favorites in the phone section.

Wow that's cool! You've really got your salesperson bending over backwards!
I guess it's motorzied on the right only because that's the seat that's supposed to move into a contorted position if you decide to bring that footrest out on the rear. Whereas the left side doesn't have that. I suppose on RHD cars the opposite will be true (which also means if you really wanted to have a motorized left monitor it may be possible since the parts would exist).

Today, I spoke with him on his cell phone and he was traveling 45 minutes to a home to drop something off that a customer had left at the dealership.
Also, I think you are correct with the reasoning as to why it is on the right and not left.
