Congrats on both of your purchases. Have a question for you, i am in houston as well and looking to get 2015 model as well, but every dealer i spoke to didnt want to give any discount, so is 5% that you got from New Orleans dealer is that applies only to cars that built to order? Or is it applies to the ones they have in stock?
Thanks in advance
You can get a discount on any car, stock or ordered. Dealers are gonna play hard like no one will give a discount. Houston North and Baton Rouge told me that they wouldn't discount a dime. And I bought that crap when I ordered my 2014, and gave Houston full msrp. On this 2015 I decided to not let anyone "trick" me into thinking a discount could not be had. So I shot my desire at every Benz store within 200 miles. New Orleans took the bate, and that was all I needed. I then told Houston North that New Orleans gave me a 5% discount, and then it was game on. Houston North changed their stubborn talk and matched the discount. So actually I changed over and ordered from Houston because Ashley Jones is a TOP NOTCH saleswoman. Customer service with her is unmatched. So basically all you need is to find one dealer who'll take the bait, and you can use that to get your local stubborn dealer to budge.

You said, "Houston North and Baton Rouge told me that they wouldn't discount a dime." So a top notch salesperson except the part about lying to you about a discount. It seems a bit unfair to not reward the person in New Orleans that didn't lie to you like the Houston dealer.

pitting dealers against each other is HOW you buy a car these days......I'm surprised you paid full price for that '14....... and then sold it
We seem to have short memories. It was very common for all of us to tell others a discount on a brand new model was not to be found unless one had a long standing relationship with a dealer. MSRP was the norm.
My point was the dealer flat out lied but was rewarded. I know people pit dealers against each other but it's disingenuous for us to then complain about dealers or call them "Stealers" because they play games. It seems buyers play games too.
I bet I can find a post from every one of us talking about how MSRP was the norm ( except for above or EDP).

The salesperson you work with is just a middle man especially at big autonation dealers like Houston. They go ask the general manager, he says no, they come back and tell you no. My great reviews are for Ashley Jones the saleswoman, not the big guy behind the door who plays the games. If I had to give him a review, it would not be so gracious.

Thanks for your prompt response, thats what i experienced when i went to Houston Greenway, the guy kept telling me how they sell out like a hot cakes and that they wont give me anything off, and were acting as if he personally drives an S and as if i am some kind of cheap-*** for asking him a discount

Yeah, they all act like that. It's kind of arrogant and rude. Houston North acted the same.
