I'm hoping someone can shine some light on when MB S class model
years begin. What they did with 2015 model confused me.

Specifically---when can we expect the 2016 to be available?

When my car was delayed a little from its original production date I asked this question.

Not sure anyone knows for sure yet but the information I was given is that the 2016's will be on the normal run cycle. That being, production starting in May sometime and then released in the July time frame.

Time will tell. I can't image it would be too far off from this.

 

The factory was being retooled for the 2015 in late March 2014. I cannot say if the same holds true for March 2015 retooling to the 2016 model.

They would not let us tour the S Class line when I was there on March 18th due to retooling and prototypes on the line.

 

This is commensurate with what I was told. 2015 will be a long year and 2016 back to a more normal cycle.

I was asking my sales person this morning about ordering a 2016 vs. a 2015 S550 Coupe. She did share that for the 2016 year the red interior will be more widely available (without having to but an expensive package like the edition 1 cars). Before I heard this I was planning to order a car in Lunar Blue with Porcelain/espresso, now am considering silver with red instead.
