Squeaky seat??

So I dropped off my car today to address a squeaky seat issue. This is the second visit to the dealer for the same issue. First time they said they put some noise dampening tape on it to solve the issue which was just a joke. It lasted for 2 days and was back to exactly where it was before, annoying as hell. It sounds like a spring. I know I saw someone on this board mention that they had a squeaky seat issue as well. Hoping to find that person and see what the solution was. The dealer is saying that there is a bulletin from MB on this problem but they don't seem to know how to fix it

I have the exact same problem , went to the workshop and they told me that there is nothing to do

The sound comes from here ( see picture ) . The sides are touching each other , and the leather is too soft

I sure hope that isn't the case because it is extremely annoying and it is very loud. I had a client in my car the other day and he even asked what that noise was...

Same problem. Had it in the shop for another reason and they took the seat apart to find the noise. Two days later it's back. I hate it. Very annoying. I actually have stopped driving it so much because of how much it bothers me. Passenger seat is perfect - completely silent - so something is definitely off. I've even tried putting some felt in between the referenced side part of the seat which did nothing to help. I hate it!!!

So the dealer called me and said they couldn't duplicate the noise. I said no way because it had been there every time I have driven the car so I went to the dealer and sure enough the noise was gone. They said they did nothing. So typical and so frustrating. I am sure it will come back but just incredibly odd that a noise I have heard since a couple of weeks after I took deliver all of a sudden goes away as soon as I take it to the dealer. The gremlins are driving me crazy

Request shop foreman submit PTSS case (escalate to MB Dealer Technical Support). Note, a repeat repair must take priority over any other vehicle in facility.

I've found that it temporarily stops when the vehicle is cold on the inside. But once it warms up, so does the leather and thus the rubbing/squeaking begins. I would check with your dealer to see if they tried to replicate it when the car was cold.

So far the noise has not returned hot or cold. It's just so odd. I hope it stays away but I am not counting on it. My strategy now is when it comes back I will just drive it directly to the dealer. They are close to my office so it's all I can do for now.

I have the same issue. But it seems to have lessened now in the winter. Mine is on the left side of the driver's seat (near the left shoulder area).

It's back and it's just on the left side now. Seems to be getting worse the more I drive it. Great. Headed to the dealer on Monday

Both my driver and passenger side makes a squeaking noise. It's seems to be the worst in the morning and as the car warms up, it seems to go away.

I'm planning on bring the issue up at my next service appointment.

Has anyone tried some leather conditioner to see if its helps to reduce the noise?

So I have had the car in the shop 4 times to fix the squeaky seat issue and all 4 times they can't fix it. I am pushing for a new seat. What are my chances?

My 2015 S550 is about 3 months old now and has about 2,500 miles on it. About 3 weeks ago, I took it to the dealer because the driver's seat was making a clicking noise on acceleration and on braking. They had the car a week and replaced the seat "actuator," which I guess is the entire frame assembly with all the motors and such. I was told that when the leather seat cover (Exclusive) was being reinstalled that the tech did not like the way it fit, so a new one was installed. The clicking is gone, but now my heretofore non squeaking seat--SQUEAKS! Mine comes from the right side, near the center storage compartment. The squeak comes and goes and does seem to be temperature sensitive.

You can easily fix this with some moleskin/felt tape. Buy a roll and put it where the seat or seatbelt meets the console.

Mine is on the left side of the seat and it makes noise when ever I move or the car moves. It's so loud that everyone who has been in the car has mentioned it without prompting.

Crazy idea to solve it..

Could you put some special leather or upholstery grease or oil in between? Seems to me the squeeking is caused by friction between materials.

That was what the dealer tried the last time I was there. Worked for 2 hours then right back

I have the exact same issue with the exact same mileage. I'm dealing with the dealer as I write this. Hopefully they can resolve this issue.

Since you've isolated the area that squeaks it should be a simple fix, where some felt tape is inconspicuously applied between the two pieces that are rubbing together to stop the noise.

The problem on mine was the seat belt. Haven't had a problem since

Both my S600's seats squeak/creak to at different points and at different times. Temperature, seat position, occupant weight and occupant posture all seem to influence the noises. The passenger seat on one of the cars even squeaks as you breathe - seems to be from the seat belt latch rubbing against the seat.

I'm too scared to let my dealer even try to attend to these noises lest they cause more issues. When my dealer replaced my W221 S65 seat motor they scratched the leather and wood trim on the door.

Is there anyone else on this board who can start out a post with "Both of my S600's.......?"
Just sayin!
The driver's seat on my 2015 S550 sedan made noise when I got it. They ruined the leather seat cover while fixing it, causing the car to be in the shop for a week, while they obtained a new cover. It is silent now. I'd let them fix it, as it sounds like you are very much like me, as noises--no matter how faint--really bother both of us. Good luck.

Had two squeaks on left side of drivers seat. One was where leather seat bottom meets plastic.Applied Sail-Kote dry lubricant with q-tip between the two.Other was plastic cover over seat back base where it meets seat bottom.Temporarily wedged microfiber cloth between it and b-pillar for 500 miles. For whatever reason squeak now gone.Go figure!A little sad to have to to this in a 110k car but interior is noise free otherwise.Sat in a new 7 series and the driver's seat squeaked.Would drive me crazy!
