I believe that Lexus dealerships are all privately owned, just like MB. I used to get my Lexus serviced at Lexus Westminster in Orange County. Their service facility is truly magnificent and the customer lounge is out of this world. I have never seen an MB customer lounge with half the amenities of that one. IMO it is "THE" customer lounge by which all others should be judged.

BKWard -- The owner's manual says the Steering Assist will turn the wheel moderate amounts to follow the road or the car in front. My steering wheel barely turns and the car will not follow anything. I'm not expecting it to stay on course forever, but I expect it to turn the wheel more than an inch at the rim. When the system appeared on the 2014, the motor press went bananas over it. The way it works in my car it is a nuisance and I'm thinking about notifying NHTSA.
Regarding the start-stop system I'm using my 2010 S-400 as a reference. Once the engine, etc, were at operating temperature the start/stop worked consistently and was smoother than on my S550. The purpose is to save gas, and there is nothing more ridiculous than to have the engine running for minutes at every stop light. If you don't like it you can switch it off.

BKWard -- a self driving car would be a car where you plug the destination into the GPS and the car takes you there. That's not what I'm taking about. The Stop&Go Pilot, for example, is supposed to follow the car in front of you. My S550 does not. Never has.

BKWard -- Forgot to mention that the Owner's Guide in the Comand System does describe the Start/Stop system and the Steering-Assist very differently from how my car actually behaves. Does your car behave as described in the Manual? You have a 2015, right?

BKWard -- I'd be very happy if my car stayed on the road thru mild turns, like you describe that your car does. My car does not. It even has difficulty staying on a straight road. The car also has a Stop&Go Pilot where the car is supposed to 'lock on' to the car in front and follow it. It does not 'lock' on to anything. It is not a Steering-Assist but a distraction from hell.

Golden Lover -- thank you for reply. The status light for the Steering Assist is green. But the Steering-Assist and Stop&Go Pilot do not work as advertised. The Start/Stop system on my S-400 also had a number of conditions that had to be met for it to work. Once the yellow light changed to green, it always worked very consistently. The Start/Stop on my 2015 S550 does not have any status lights and works extremely inconsistently. Like there was a bad connector or a bad sensor that was cutting in and out. Just because it is a "different" system does not mean that it should not work as well as on the S400. The EPA City mileage figure of 17 MPG is based on a perfectly working system.

Streamliner -- I read your comment about ride quality. Here is my 2 cents: The stiffer sidewall RFTs on the 2015 are not as good as standard tires. My 2010 S400 had 18 inch wheels, Continental tires, Airmatic. My 2015 S550 has 18 inch wheels, Continental RFTs, Airmatic. My 2010 S400 had better ride quality and less tire noise. RFTs are a step backwards.
