W222 Gas Gauge--LIKE IT OR NOT?
I am finding that I miss the old fashioned gas gauge. The new gauge with the percentage readings just isn't as nice. Anyone else?

I don't have a problem with it changing to percentages and moving in 5 percentage point jumps. I see it as similar to the change when most clocks went from analog to digital readouts. We just need to accept the change. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Regarding the linearity of the gas level dropping, yes I notice that it isn't linear but I have never had a car gauge that was 100% linear. Every car I have seen over the past few decades had this issue, but the older analog sweep gauge makes it not as noticeable IMO.

Streamliner... So you don't seem to like the 222.... Time to sell it or are there some things, if any, you like about it

This is a forum for us to all share our likes, dislikes, comments, suggestions, etc. Just because I have issues with the car, doesn't mean I don't like it. I do "like" it, I just don't LOVE it, the way I loved my 2013. I have great hope that the mid cycle refresh of the 222 will resolve many, if not all of the big issues. Hopefully, some of what we say here filters up to MB management once in a while.

I am still on my first tank, but I do like the percentage gas meter. Is it safe to assume the numbers change colors when it gets really low?
A feature I loved on my Audi was that if I happened to go below 10% the navigation would ask me to direct me to the nearest gas station.

I recently took delivery of my S550. The jury is still out on the gas gage. I suppose it takes getting accustomed to it. Still on my first tank so need to experiment before passing judgement. I have so much to learn about the technology in this car I suppose the gas gage is the least of my issues.

I didn't like it at first, but I guess I'm used to it now, as long as it keeps working

I also didn't like the fuel level indicator, merely a percentage of fuel remaining showing at the bottom of the speedometer. Mercedes-Benz could have splurged on a more graphic representation of the fuel level.

I actually prefer the digital percentage. I'm used to it on my phone and macbook so it doesn't bother me on the car. I like how you get a far more accurate idea of how much gas you have. As far as being linear, it's not perfect but it's better than all of the other cars I've had. They always stay on full forever and then move quicker down to a quarter at which point they drop so fast I wonder if there's a hole in the tank...

I neither like not dislike the gas gauge (in percent).
What I dislike is that one looses the steering wheel information center when the gauge is less than 10%-warning Fuel low. It is OK to flash this for a few seconds, but why hold it on the screen for 20-30 minutes. That is just plain annoying.

The best gas gauges are analog but also show the percentage figure in a window. One that only shows % is the worst. How about showing the speed of the car as a percentage of top speed?
