[QUOTE=hyperion667;6463488]yeah, but no sport body LOL
In Newprt Beach, CA where I live, I probably see 20 white 222's & 50 black ones every day, 99% of which have the Sports Pkg., gigantic, chromed wheels and whatever other doodads that Fletcher Jones could vasoline into the deal. I like driving around in something different.

So to some, white may be "too common". On the other hand, it is demonstrably safer.
I'm sure those statistics are probably right, for all makes combined. But for S Class sedans, I would bet big time that black is overwhelmingly the most popular color.

LOL I don't think I see fewer than 3-4 S classes a day and that's with a 7 mile commute. Two of the nation's largest dealers are in LA/Orange County.
Today at a stoplight, I saw 4 S-Classes, & 3 G wagons. While the G's I saw were matte green and some other colors, 3/4 S classes were black.
A couple weeks ago, driving on Sunset Blvd, it was a procession of W222's. There were literally 5-6 of them, driving side by side in the same direction. Yet again, they were mostly all white or black.

Yes, I wasn't suggesting white was the most common for S sedans, and agree black would be most common. Just saying that white is very common in general...nationally accross makes.
BTW after reading the stats on accident rates, I'm going to get my daughter a white car, when the time comes.
I traded in a black S63 for a white S550. Black is soooo common, much more than white. Some people don't want to spend the extra money to get the Diamond White. ______________ 2015 S550

Just for kicks, I used autotrader to search for new 2015-16 W222s by color:
2097 black
1059 silver
960 white
328 blue
102 gray
56 green
22 red
I'm guessing the individual dealers might be deciding what bucket to put a car in, for instance some might categorize Ruby Black as 'red' and others as 'black'.

This is too small of a sample size and it could not accurately represent the data. I'm sure the most popular color is green. Ok, yes, I'm sure this is very close to the full data set I'm just jelly I did not think of it
My cars are usually black or white. I have a black CL and a diamond white S550. I just love the metallic paint on Mercedes, so I would get a metallic black or Anthracite Blue which was a new color starting with the. 2014 S's. You never can go wrong with white.
I am a huge fan of black cars, drive a black E now and loveee a black S class.. Not to mention that Black with Porcelain is pretty much the best combo ever. However, the white looks too amazing to pass on.. Diamond White looks amazing on the S esp with the nut brown interior. Something about the dark lights and grill do it for me.
Its a tough call.. I'd like to say go with white but I know deep inside I would end up choosing black.
Just buy the color you like. This is so subjective.
I'd had a black car in the past and given how horrible it was to maintain I will never own another black car. That black car I owned looked great only for the first hour after it was washed. I personally prefer silver, light gray and white.
