Magic Body Control on 2016 S550 4matic

If you build a 2016 s550 4matic on MBUSA website, you can add Magic Body Control for $0.00 and it shows up in the summary.

Im pretty sure its a mistake .... ;-)

(if it isnt i feel kinda silly, just picked up a 2015 4matic on Friday)

This has to be a mistake. Magic Body Control requires ABC instead of Airmatic and I do not believe ABC is compatible with 4matic vehicles. And if there was really an option to have Magic Body Control on a 4matic vehicle, it would certainly not be a no cost option.

When the CLA came out they had some "bugs" on that page of their website. I sent mbusa a tweet about it. They replied right away, fixed the bug and sent me a code for a free cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Yes, it is a boo boo. I picked up my S550, 4matic about 3-4 months ago (had to special order to get Ruby-Black) and was told there is only so much room underneath and it is the 4matil OR magic body control.

Could someone with a 14' or 15' with ABC/MBC option post a picture of the button and console. I'm trying to hunt down a used non 4matic s550, but it seems that this option is rare. Regardless, please post a pic or two.

2001 S600
For the last 18 years, it has not been possible to order a MB with both ABC/MBC and 4Matic in the same car! Looking at the new 2017 dealer ordering guide, it is possible to order MBC in the S550 and S600, but not 4Matic (if you have MBC). In 1999 it was the same situation - either ABC (S600 only then) or 4Matic (S500 then).

What is the problem? Are there different components in the same place (mechanical problem), or is it software (4Matic has different unsprung weight in the front wheels - thus different tuning requirements). After this many years, one would think MB could solve the problem.

Perhaps it is marketing? Not enough customers for both? Judging from the interest on the Internet, having both is like ‘having it all’ - a big interest.
