Oh wow, I guess I was wrong then. I didn't think they'd take that off on such a new model, but I guess it actually hit the shores in 2014, but I didn't see a single one until July when they showed up like crazy for some reason. Nice discounts!

Yeah, it's pretty much the same except for a few key things (although some of these may not be considered tech): LED Headlamps (I love those), iDrive 4.2 with touchpad, LED instrument display (like in the S-Class), and most importantly, above all, they got rid of the N63B44O0 engine and replaced it with the N63B44O1 engine, which is so, so much better for reliability (and 45 more horsepower I think!), and included the new 8-speed transmission, plus rear air suspension -- these are kind of tech . Also looks like they have the Active Driving Assistant Plus with Stop & Go, Attention Assist, and Active Protection.

Sorry for all the questions, just really interested in your experiences with the car!

Also, did you have the BMW Assist service active at the time? (I did a quick web search about the service, and it seems a lot of people don't actually have it activated and then it either doesn't work or they have to go through the signup process/they can't get the information from the car over the phone due to the fact the service isn't being enabled, which I'm hypothesizing might be why they asked for the VIN, so I thought I'd ask. And it appears you have to test the SOS button once a month to ensure it works and they can communicate with the car, which I've never had a problem with mbrace, as it has always worked when activated -- except for when they randomly cancel my service and I have to reactivate.)

Has she checked out the Panamera, Quattroporte, or GranTurismo? The GranTurismo is absolutely amazing and with great leasing. It'd be well worth it to check out a GranTurismo, or Quattroporte if a sedan is in order.

Interesting...I would look at an XJL if the V8 was available with AWD, but unfortunately it's RWD only.

She wants the Supercharged V6 and after driving it today, I really do think it is enough. She is getting Black Cherry with the Ivory interior.
This is the 2015. The 2016, with the mid-cycle refresh, steps it up a notch with quilted diamond stitching, upgraded navigation and larger screen, and several new electronic features.

In our opinion, the XJL is nicer than all of them. The interiors are not even close, and with the mid-cycle refresh, the XJL gets even better.

On the bright side, they have some really great lease deals (primarily because of sales).
I'd also make sure the new infotainment system is up to snuff on usability before you buy.
I'd really encourage you to look at a 6 series, though, before you close the deal. GranTurismo too (it may not have the best interior, but it's an amazing car, especially with how it looks and drives -- check out Motor Trend's review).

I know it's completely off-topic, but I always wonder who buys these Maseratis.
I have test driven the Quattroporte and Granturismo and they drive ok, sound great but they are soooo slow.
Even the Centennial MC edition can't keep up with our SL550.

I am with you. Tried several times to get excited about their cars and just could't get there.

With Maseratis, it's either you sort of love it or you don't. A lot of people buy them solely as beautiful Italian luxury cars with a bit of sport (that Italian part is distinguishably different than the Germans like MB or BMW). If you do buy them as sports cars that are also luxurious, you buy them because they're not as fast or as flashy as a Ferrari and more luxury-centric than a Ferrari, but with some Ferrari in it (engines designed and made by Ferrari, etc), or because you can't afford a Ferrari.
Although, I know many people who have both Maseratis and Ferraris. The Ferraris are the exotic sports cars, the Maseratis are the exotic luxury cars (but mainly because they're beautiful and sound good, or because they're very different than German cars).
Maserati is trying to change the fact that people don't really buy them for performance (well, they didn't really sell them for performance anyway) with the 560 hp Quattroporte and Ghiblis with All-Wheel-Drive, Alfieri with 520-hp and AWD, and GranTurismo with 560-hp, all due by 2018.
I can't really say there is a Maserati type. With Maseratis, it's either you love them or you don't. I know many people who love them, own them (if it's a GranTurismo, they usually use it as a beautiful Italian exotic that's sporty and luxurious, a Quattroporte because they're bored with the German sedans but don't care about track times), and many who hate them. If you do care about numbers and track performance, you're waiting until 2018.
Personally, I'm in the waiting until 2018 category... Then, they'll be fast, luxurious, Italian, look and sound amazing, and be great to drive.

No problem! Nice interior and color. I'd just check that the interior color isn't too light or anything (risk of getting it dirty, staining, etc), and also make sure you like the headrests. When I last looked at an XJ, the headrests were as hard as a rock, unlike the super pillowy and soft ones in the S550 you have.

what do you guys think is a realistic lease on a 126,000 MSRP 2015 S550.
I would want to lease for 30 months, 10k a year. The MF is at .00047 with 2500 drive off.
Just as a point of reference, here are two lease deals I have seen. The first one I was offered but the dealer couldn't do a trade (as the car was a demo) and the latter one a member posted on here a few days ago.
$1289.89 on 120,000 MSRP 10k/yr
$1138.36 on 111,365 MSRP 12k/yr
with 2500 walk off, .00047 MF & 8% tax being constant
For the 126,000 MSRP another dealer told me $1520.00 and that was their bottom line. I was hoping to pull the trigger at 1325.00 a month.
