Comparing green colors: 2015's Verde Brook Metallic vs. 2016's Emerald Green Metallic

I'm thinking about buying a green S550, either a 2015 or 2016. I assume there is a difference between 2015's Verde Brook Metallic and 2016's Emerald Green Metallic, but it's difficult to tell from various photos. If anyone knows of a side by side (same lighting conditions) comparison, I'd be grateful.

verde brook = very dark. almost black in certain lighting.
emerald green = much brighter hue. no mistaking it for green.

Thanks, AJM! If you're familiar with the iconic British Racing Green color, do you think either the Verde Brook or the Emerald is somewhat close? (Maybe BRG is halfway in between the two... )

between the two, emerald green is closer to brg. but emerald green is still brighter than brg. does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. The Emerald Green Metallic reflects more light. The BRG on 1970s Jaguars back in my native England had no metallic qualities, unlike current Mercedes color options. That "flatter" green looks better, IMHO. (Sadly, along with that beautiful Jag color came endless mechanical problems...)

that brg is stunning, mate. always loved that colour. btw - the emerald green hue we've been chinwagging about is metallic so it has a flake in it like so many paint colours these days. and is definitely a bit brighter (lighter) than that brg jaguar example you posted^.

I am a huge fan of solid, non-metallic colors. It's too bad that the only non- metallic MB will allow us to order for the S Class is black. They really should have a much wider selection of optional, extra cost, special order only colors, for those who prefer something other than various shades of black or gray. I would just love a real navy blue, the aforementioned British Racing Green, the fantastic old MB Maple Yellow and just a wonderful, clean, crisp solid white would be so refreshing, not to mention some lovely browns, tans & cream colors on the S Class models.
