Yes they are

Sales aren't good for them and they are offering deep discounts on the S Class models also the refresh is due out next year do don't get to strapped in the old styling. They will be offering new colors for both interior and exterior as well as correcting the bass mouth front grille and a massive electronics upgrades .

I don't think we will see a refresh until 2017 as a 2018 model year. So even if you buy now with a 30 month lease you will only have to have the car 4-8 months into the refresh cycle. Maybe not even that long if they do pull aheads on the lease.

It's time and they need to play catch up to the 7 Series and all the new electronics showing up in the lesser models and coming from all the Japanese car makers. Also, they need to shore up sales as they have fallen off some the intro in the fall of 13.

Only time will tell who was right I don't think the new 7 series has anything really on the s class. I do agree that you can get a lot of the same features on a 2015 XLE Toyota Camry. I think as time goes on these higher end cars won't be able to compete by having more tech, it will by the level of opulence. The features are just generally trickling down a lot faster then they used to due to automakers not developing their own features but buying them from 3rd party manufacturers. Example, 5 major car companies use the same manufacturer for blind spot mirror tech.

He is wrong, but I am not going to argue with him. It will be in calendar year 17, but as a MY18. Europe may be a different story.

Too bad your source is wrong.

Electronics will be updated all the time; some with the facelift some without. There are new electronics showing up not just in Japanese cars but also in lower end MB's (like the new E-Class).

So for the 16, the MF buyrate for auto-pay is .00037? and the residual will be 63% for 30 months 10k/year lease?

UAG1, not sure of the residual for 2016 but the buy rate on the MF should be a .0001 reduction from the standard MF for auto pay.

UPDATE: I was able to ascertain these numbers for a 2016 for the month of November-- 36 month lease / 12K miles = .00104 MF and 51% residual without auto pay.
