Black on Black

1 year ago when i went Pick up S5504matic i saw the assembly line. Most S class cars were black a few white and a few silver/very few other colours and i am talking World wide.Anybody have any thoughts.Mine is silver with beige interior.I just hate black interiors since i bought my 964 in 1991.got too hot in summer and showed dust like crazy.

I personally love black on black. My previous S was black/black. However, this time around, I chose Anthracite Blue with the designo Deep Sea Blue interior. My Cayenne and Golf R are black metallic with black and my 600 is black 040 with Cognac (a palomino tan with pebbled reddish brown combo).

Black color shows dust but lighter colors shows dirt and nothing is like a black interior including headlining
As for the exterior color , I am a huge fan of diamond silver and my next car will be a diamond silver with black interior
However, when it comes to S Class ,black color hue definitely shows the car more than other colors

Black works with everything. And yes, it is a pain to keep clean...but when it is, it has an alluring depth. I once had an aforementioned S550 in Obsidian Black/blk, a CL600 in Obsidian Black/grey, a C300 in Black 040/blk, and my 600 is Black 040.

I think that black is the best looking color on an S Class sedan, WHEN it is perfectly clean and totally free of swirls in the paint. Trying to keep a black car in that condition is very difficult, especially if it's a daily driver. Someone once commented that black cars were for "glass half full" personalities. Being a "glass half empty" guy myself, I prefer colors lighter than black. On the W222, a black exterior completely hides the Panorama Roof, which I find to be quite ugly on lighter colored cars.

Not that it matters, I'm impressed you recognize that in yourself.
