20" MB multispoke
Leasing the s550 and anticipating optioning 20" multispoke wheels.
As a northeast resident, will the 4matic allow these 20" to get through
Snow covered roads?
Dealer not suprisingly says no prob?
Experience and or comments appreciated

Yeah, you won't have any problems with those rims, but the tires are another question. Any idea what tires are mounted on your lease? Performance summer tires will negate a lot of the benefits of your full-time four wheel drive.
I put all season tires on mine & never had a problem last winter (Michigan).
Enjoy !

My suggestion is this: If you want the 20 inch wheels, you will need to switch the tires to all season tires since, as far as I know, the 20s come with summer tires whereas 19" and 18" come with all season tires.
You will need all season tires to really do the best job with the 4matic in snow. Or certainly winter tires will work as well.

I did a lot of research on this when I bout my 2015. I live in NYC and drive to upstate NY and to PA so I drive in the snow.
I also like the 20" wheels.
The 20 inch wheels are only a option if you buy the sport package. I think that was either 3500 or 5000 bucks and it gives you a slightly different look.outside and inside. I think the fenders are slightly different.
I do not know if the 20 inch will run on a car without a sport package. I wanted the sport package so for me it was moot.
MB will only sell you the tire and rim protection plan if you run the tires that they approve.
In 2015 they would not approve a 20 inch all season run flat tire. The car does not come with a spare so I felt having a run flat was important and being able to call MB Roadside and get a replacement tire was also important to me. Finely if damaged my rime I wanted the MB rim and tire insurance to kick in.
Most cars with the sport package come stock with 19 inch 5 spoke AMG wheels. For the 19" wheels there are several all season run flat tires approved by MB.
If you order your car with the 20 inch you will pay extra but the 19 inch come stock with the sport package (which you have to buy anyway if you want to run the 20" wheels)
In the end, I took the car with the 19 inch 5 spoke which I will run in the winter with all season run flats and I bought a set of 20 inch rims and tires on ebay for 2800 delivered.
In the summer I run the 20 inch multi spoke and in the winter the 19 all season.
When I sell or trade the car I will sell one set of tires.
I hope this helps.
