Maybach vs Brabus Thoughts

I would like to get thoughts/opinions on the front end
(bumper & grille) of a stock s600 maybach vs a brabus pkg.

Thanks in advance for your time & giving ALL opinions.

Well since you asked. I find the current stock Benz grilles to be a bit on the large side as it is. The Brabus above looks like an evil clown. So, Maybach of the two.

I much prefer the grilles of the Maybach. I really don't like how the Brabus' grilles have the chrome vertical slats as opposed to the horizontal slats on the Maybach.

The Brabus is like a bad boy on steroids unbefitting of the natural refinement of an S-class

^This is true as well. I love the simplicity of the S class!

Same here. IMO, Brabus always half-a**ed the bodywork aspect of things. Remember that awful hood cowl on the Vanish? Just lazy.

I think the flat screen door looking air ducts at the bottom are a bit dated and boring. I think the Maybach version ties the front grill in better with more intricate detailing and balance vs the flat look. Brabus looks aftermarket change just for the sake of change without taking the look as a whole into enough account.

I know you didn't ask, but it is related since I think your goal is to look more aggressive

I upgrade with the front and rear bumpers from an S65 and new wheels and be done with it

It is personal opinion but I do not care for the Brabus grille. I prefer the S65.

I believe they were trying to bring back more of historical/pass models resemblance

I agree with you that the Brabus lower front bumper doesn't tie in with the flow as well.. BUT...
I also feel like Mercedes didn't do enough to seperate the elegance from the Maybach to s-class
Starting with badging
--Maybach (written on the trunk) w/ Mercedes star in the middle
--Then maybach on rear pillars
Maybach on armrest & cup holder
Then steering wheel Mercedes
--seats v12 (could have used nice maybach badging)
--carpets nothing.. (AMG even badged those)
--obviously front end is traditional Mercedes

No real consistency, & small little changes make a huge difference in branding /resurrecting a passed model...
just not thought through if you ask me

I am feeling the same
Except s65 has chrome slats at the top of air duct slats
(undecided on how it would look)
But do agree over aggressiveness is a great tie in.. & wheels are already done.. Lol... BUT.. didn't get much love on this forum... Lol...

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING screams out "NO TASTE" more than a "tuner" modified S Class. These Brabus & other abortions are the hot ticket for about 15 minutes. After that, people look at that "thing" you are driving and they say to themselves "WHY?"

Stock Maybach s600

BRABUS... Obviously.. Lol..
Does anyone know if my assumptions below are correct??
If so I may be on my way towards a solution to my small issue... Lol...

Seems AMG s63/65 are most aggressive/sporty, with s550 AMG pkg a tad more aggressive then stock,
Which ALL are more better options then maybach s600...

Think I'm there NOW...

Stock s550

AMG pkg s550

Maybach s600

AMG s63

AMG s65

Actually, the trim on the Maybach is more matte silver, right? Then use the bumpers from a S63 (matte highlights and black, not chrome, mesh) instead of a S65.

I did see the wheels before but chose to remain silent ... while the overall wheel isn't for me, the two tone just isn't coming across well at all. To me, it just looks off, looks like the rubber grip on a set of pliers.

I think the S63 fascia, refinish the wheels and black out the window trim would look sharp. I"m biased in favor of no window trim, though.

Shameless plug, I have both these AMG wheels - the 5 spoke in the picture and the black 10 spoke. I may be selling a set if you're interested.

If you're asking did you match the correct photos to model, then yes you did

The S63 conversion is about $5K, less than I would have imagined plus you could resell the side pieces since they will not fit on the Maybach

Thank you..heres my Intial thoughts after yesterdays conversation.
The AMG pkg may fit the bill best because of the side chrome piece running along the doors, those Lil chrome inserts in air ducts on bumper MAY keep the flow alil better.... But I have to see in person today & see if it is worth the change (might not make enough difference)

Thank you guys for ALL your input..
I will let you know, what I decide

Brabus grill is very reminiscent of the grill lay put used in W220 based Maybach model whereas current model is typical W222 S Class .
Well, honestly I think I would prefer W222's grill over Brabus
