Looking for some pics of black s550s with tint
Hey guys, picking up my new 2016 s550 tomorrow. The dealer and I were talking about different tinting options. I was hoping that anyone with a black s-class with tinted windows could post some pics and tell me the percentage tint it is. I was thinking of going darker in the back than front, but would love to see what you guys have done and what you think of it.

auto window tint simulator
...you might find something of use. I tried the 3M site, but it doesn't let you pick MB, maybe someone else's simulator would.
BTW I was considering tinting our Tesla and in researching came to believe that Spectra Photosync is currently the best.

Hey Jay,
I just got a 2015 black 550 and it already has the windows tinted. Not sure what tint but the windows look reflective goldish/brown(?) and not the gray I'm used to on my black cars.
Did you get your windows tinted? If so what did you use and did it give you a nice black/gray look or is it reflective? I'd like to remove my existing tint and redo it if I can get what I want. I get too much conflicting information when speaking with different tinting dealers to trust anyone right now.

Had my 2015 S tinted with the required special tint in the darkest legal color possible. All said and done, you can hardly notice anything darker than the factory with the exception of my front window, top strip that is a must !

I think the car can be ordered with a Solar Tint Option from the factory to keep heat out of the cabin and I am almost positive it is an Option on the S550 from the factory. That may be giving you the Reflective Goldish Brown. So no matter what tint you add, you may have this overlay changing the appearance and still have the reflective look.

Interesting, thanks for the replies! Hey Kevo, what do they do to the glass if it is an AMG or sport package? (mine has the sport package)
Just got the car back and they re-tinted with Formula1, 30% sides and 20% rear window (% is the amount of light let in. Darkest legal where I live is 35%). Still has the same reflective look and now the side windows barely look tinted, I'm confused. Other cars I've used a 35% tint and they all seem darker (and grayer of course). I'm almost thinking they screwed up as it seems like a 40% tint.

The other thing I forgot to mention... while the side windows look too lightly tinted and reflective blueish, the rear window has a purpley look and not as reflective. Both tints are the formula1 Pinnacle series, just a difference in amount of light let in, 30% sidess vs 20% rear.

Have the same tint formula 1 IIRC only 50%
The camera picks up on the reflections, but the 3rd picture is close what I actually see in person - looks like a transparent charcoal
