Warning: Ulster County, roadside assist, Norsemen towing

Yesterday my battery went dead sitting in a parking lot in Ulster County New York. The reason for my dead battery will be the subject of another post.

I called roadside assistance and they told me that a "outside vendor" would call me within 15 minutes with an ETA. No one called within 30 minutes so I called back roadside assistance.

I was told that Norsemen towing from Saugerties New York (only 20 minutes from where I was parked) would get to me in 50 minutes.

Norsemen never called! They never showed up!

It's bad enough that at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on a weekday it's going to take them two hours to drive 20 minutes, it adds insult to injury that they never called and never showed up.

In the end after waiting two hours I paid some fellow 50 bucks to jump me.

It's less about my desire to complain because I can afford a nice car and I have a nice life and nothing to complain about. However I probably could've saved a lot of time if I had known in advance that they were incompetent and that's why I'm making this post hopefully others will benefit if they break down in Ulster County.

Anyway I want to issue a warning:

Warning! Norsemen towing in Saugerties New York in my opinion is incompetent and impolite

How do you know Norsemen even got a call? Someone messed up but there's not enough information to determine who dropped the ball

After waiting 30 minutes and not receiving no call as promised, I called back to roadside. The lady who answered told me that the call had been dispatched to Norsemen. She placed me on hold and called the driver and that the driver said that he/she was on the way and would be here in 50 minutes. (Once again, please note that it's hard to be 50 minutes from anywhere in Ulster County)

So, in answer to your question, while I cannot be 100% sure that the lady at roadside assistance was telling me the truth I tend to believe her and assume that since she is just a telephone customer service person that she told me the truth when she said she spoke with the driver. Also I would tend to trust her if she told me the name of the company that this was assigned to.

It's very seldom that I complain about anything but I believe that after waiting two hours and hearing nothing and having no one show up that somebody needs to know that this company is irresponsible and also inconsiderate.
