Post Dim... Dim Dim Dim.

Can someone confirm the following and if it is normal. I dimmed the display at night using the center dial, the left side dimmed nicely, however with navigation on the right screen, it was still 50% brighter than the left... still too bright for night driving...

When saying the center dial, does it mean the Command Knob/Controller? It can set the brightness of different zones for the Ambient Lighting.

https://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/Digital...dan_COMAND.pdf

Zone
The zone setting determines the area in
which the brightness setting is to be applied. If the Complete zone is selected for longer than 0.5 seconds, the brightness of the Front zone is adopted for the entire vehicle.

Brightness
This setting makes an additional change to the brightness of the ambient lighting. The brightness change is only effective for the selected zone. For this reason, the zone for which the brightness change is to be active must be selected first.

Setting the brightness of the zones

- Call up Vehicle Settings (page 62).

- To select Ambient Light Brightness: turn and press the controller.
The left-hand setting element is active. The brightness value for the currently selected zone is displayed.

- Press the controller.

- To change the brightness value: turn and
press the controller.

- To select a zone: slide (the controller to the right) and turn the
controller.

No, the actual dash displays. The Left side dims fine, however the Navigation side is always 50% brighter. The little black dimming knob under the rear sun shade on the dash. If you turn it from full bright to full dim, the Navigation barely dim's.

Ok, found the hidden setting for the Brightness of full screen Navigation. Once you set the brightness for night, it can be further dimmed with the dimming wheel. For some reason it was turned up to +5 in the nave menu.

Glad you found the solution!

I was thinking about the same thing -- about the settings under the Command Vehicle/System-Settings/Display (Page 46-48).

Mine was set to Automatic Mode, and the little knob on dash would dim both screens evenly and accordingly.

You can also set the Brightness +/- for the 360 cameras. So if you wanted the cameras brighter during the night and the navigation dimmer, when you set them individually, they will stay that way. To tweak them during night driving on poorly lit roads, you can further dim both displays and the clock with the little black knob in the center of the 2 displays.
